Description
The Spanish king’s summer residence Marivent is located here. One of the most prominent features of the neighbourhood is a large and lovely sandy beach below the four star hotel Nixe Palace. In Cala Mayor you will find restaurants next to the sea itself and along the main road as well. Every type of day to day service such as banks, hairdressers, bakeries, food shops and car rental services are to be found.
West of Cala Mayor is San Agustin, an area that offers a wondrous view of the sea which has made the area a very popular zone to live in. Next to the sea is a famous sailing school beside a pretty marina with a beach and a café. The 30 km road for biking and walking between Santa Ponsa and Palma passes by. Getting to the popular beach Illetas, where you can bathe from sandy beaches or cliffs, is only a matter of a few short minutes by car. The Porto Pi shopping centre is at a walking distance and Palma can be reached by bus within minutes.
Above the area is the village of Genova, famous for its 24 restaurants. In this village you meet the local inhabitants every day as they visit the butcher or the baker.
